Palace on Wheels is one the most luxurious train in the world. If one is looking for its luxury tour, then you can go with Palace on Wheels and can take the tour as you feel like. It operates from Delhi and covers certain parts of Rajasthan and is marked as one of the top ten luxury train journeys in the world. The main reason behind launching this train was to promote tourism in Rajasthan and was launched by the Indian Railways & Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation.

Palace on Wheels gives a rich and royal experience of the Maharajas of Rajasthan. It will give you unbelievable experience and a holiday of a lifetime.

The name Palace on Wheels was derived from its royal background of the coaches. Palace-on-Wheels was introduced in 1984 and it has 14 Saloons, 2 Restaurant cum Kitchen car, one Bar cum Lounge and 4 Service Cars. In order to further increase the amenities on the train and due to overall gauge conversion in the state, a new broad gauge Palace-on-Wheels has been constructed & has been running since 1996. It is not just a name that means luxury but in the real sense the pride of Indian travel industry. The idea of luxury has taken a new measurement where every single aspect is exactly chosen to pamper the guests.

Palace on Wheels provides spa and the exclusive bars whereas the other luxury trains do not offer any kind of the spa in their journey and have bar cum lounge. Every coach is provided with a saloon and every saloon is provided with a lounge. If anyone is interested in smoking, then they can go to that lounge and can have their smoke. In all, they have 14 coaches, 14 saloons, and 14 lounges. Each saloon has two attendants who look after eight people. Mouth-watering continental, Chinese, Rajasthani food is served in Maharaja and Maharani restaurants which are available on the train. Also, a name of the coaches is put after the princely states of Rajasthan like - Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Kota, Sirohi, and Udaipur. Palace on Wheels is the only luxury train which takes their guest to Jaisalmer and royal treatment is given throughout the journey. Proper health check-ups are provided to the guests over the journey and in case of an emergency, doctors are called at the very next station.
