Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is marked as one of the Luxury trains and is run by Indian railways. It was launched in 2009 by the success of Palace on Wheels, which is another luxury train that travels through the Rajasthan.

The tourist spends 7 days and 8 nights with Royal Rajasthan on Wheels and covers various parts of Rajasthan. It starts it journey with New Delhi and last destination to cover is Agar. In between, places that are covered are – Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittaurgarh, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Khajuraho, Varanasi & Sarnath and Agra. The train takes their guests to several important wildlife, tourist and heritage site across the Rajasthan.

There are 14 luxury cabins in Royal Rajasthan on Wheels and each of them are named after some erstwhile royal palace of Rajasthan and later they are divided into Deluxe and Super Deluxe saloons. At a time, this luxury train can accommodate around 80 people. These cabins are prepared with facilities such as Wi-Fi internet, Satellite TV, Channel music system and personal temperature control. There are 3 cabins which are marked under the Deluxe saloons, namely, Ruby (Red), Sapphire (Blue) and Pearl (White). Also, few of the cabins are also knowns as Hawa Mahal, Padmini Mahal, Kishori Mahal, Phool Mahal. Super Deluxe Coach Taj Mahal. have two cabins named Diamond and Emerald. Each cabin has the washroom having the shower compartment and glass base basin which helps in giving a royal experience.

Royal Rajasthan on Wheels has 2 dinning cars named as Swarn Mahal and Sheesh Mahal. They both have different themes. Swarn Mahal is spotted on brass and gold theme whereas, Sheesh Mahal restaurant features spectacular floor lamps and crystal pelmets. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is served in train, consisting of indian, continental, italian and chinese dishes. A Royal kitchen is made in the train to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It operates a weekly tour to Rajasthan from September to April every year and departs every Sunday from Safdarjung Railway Station, New Delhi.

It is one of the most updated luxury train and has royal spa in it where guest can relax themselves while travelling. The staff on board is moderately proficient in spoken English. However, if any guest has specific requirements for language speaking, they can mention it at the time of reservation.
